Salutation scheme ends: optimise your energy consumption now

From 1 January 2027, the solar panel net-metering scheme will end. This week, on 17 December, the Senate agreed to the cabinet's plan to abolish the scheme. For you as an installer, this is the perfect time to offer your customers a smart future-proof optimisation of their energy consumption.

The end of the net-metering scheme from 2027 means that you can no longer offset electricity generated by your solar panels - or small wind turbine on your business premises - against your own energy consumption.

Offsetting

Netting has been used since 2004 to make investment in solar panels more attractive. But meanwhile, a third of homes in Netherlands solar panels and energy feed-in is causing problems on the full power grid. The government has therefore decided to abolish net-metering.

Energy management

Fortunately, the end of netting can also mark the beginning of smarter energy management. You can easily do that with WattMaestro:

⚡ Connect all your energy devices: from solar panels and heat pump to home battery and car charging station.

☀️ Use as much of the solar energy generated as possible yourself.

💡 Optimise your energy consumption and costs: for example, by turning systems on or off automatically depending on energy price and production.
